What is this site about?
This site will display a very large image with (hopefully) hundreds of ads
from VoIP-related companies. The ad space is open to anybody
in the business: VoIP service providers, billing system suppliers,
voicemail systems, toolkit makers, gateway vendors, video terminal
manufacturers, QoS tool vendors, etc. If your company is in the VoIP
business, this is the ad site for you!
Ads are sold in units of 10 pixels by 10 pixels at $1 per pixel and displayed
on an image that is 1000 pixels by 1000 pixels.
How long will ads be displayed?
Ads sold on this site will be shown for at least 10 years. We will commit
financial and human resources to ensure a 10-year ad run. If possible, we
will let it run even longer. It will be a cool piece of history.
Why advertise on this site?
There are a few good reasons:
- Your ad dollars will work for you for the next 10 years
- You will own a very unique spot in this very young VoIP industry
- Your ad will be placed along side other companies having a go at this
new industry and carve out your place in the market
- You can help a couple of VoIP engineers plan for retirement.
We've been at this for so many years now and... well, you know what
the stock market is like these days. I don't think we'll ever be able
to retire! We have no pension plans.
What do I need to do to place an ad?
Visit the buy ad space page and purchase the number
of pixels you want. Ads are sold in units of 100 pixels that form a 10x10
rectangle. When ordering, you will indicate the number of ad units you want
to purchase, provide a PNG, GIF, or
JPEG image of the corresponding size, provide the
URL to which you wish to be linked, and provide text to
display with the image. Note that the ad images must be a rectangular
shape. That's it! After the order is placed, we receive the payment,
ad graphic, and information, we will put your ad up on the site within a
few days.
May I later change the ad text or URL?
No. Once the links and text are provided, they cannot be changed: they
will remain there for the next 10 years. We might consider making exceptions,
but only in extreme cases or in the event that we are required to do so
for legal reasons. Be sure to carefully consider the link and display
text you submit.
Did you steal this idea?
Yes. Let's face it: Alex Tew
had a very unique idea. Here we are, lowly VoIP engineers in the
telecom business for years struggling to make ends meet, and this
fellow comes along with a million dollar idea before getting out of college!
Are we jealous? Of course! Why didn't we think of that?!?!
Can I Contact You?
Absolutely. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to send
us an e-mail to
webmaster@packetizer.com.
